Leslie is the owner and a farmer at Cylon Rolling Acres in Deer Park, Wis., where she raises meat goats and sheep with rotational grazing practices.
Beyond the pastures, Leslie also passionate about good food rooted in freshness and flavor.
She recognizes that food doesn’t just nourish our bodies, but it creates experiences and meaning, and even is powerful to prompts memories of travel, life experiences, and family traditions.
As Leslie started to share her farm's meat with her community, selling it directly to families, she started to learn more about the meat itself, including learning from her customers and just getting in the kitchen and cooking it herself.
She recognized that while goat meat has deep ties in many cultural heritages, there really wasn't many resources on how to cook the meat, Variety of recipes to offer inspiration to enjoy this protein were lacking as well. This lead Leslie to start to experiment in the kitchen and create many of the goat meat recipes you'll find on this website, which take inspiration from many different flavors and cuisines.
